USUAL DOSAGE:
-Take as directed by your healthcare practitioner.
-Take 3 to 4 capsules three times daily, on an empty stomach with a glass of warm water for maximum effectiveness.
-This formula is appropriate for long-term use.
CAUTIONS:
-This formula is contraindicated during pregnancy and nursing.
-This formula contains St. John's Wort (Guan Ye Lian Qiao) which sometimes associated with rash and photosensitivity. Patients should avoid exposure to sunlight or wear protective clothing.
-Do not take this formula concurrently with antidepressant drugs. Guan Ye Lian Qiao (Herba Hypericum) has been shown to inhibit the uptake of serotonin, norepinephrine, and dopamine in vitro at high concentrations. The antidepressant drugs include monoamine oxidase inhibitors (MAOI), tricyclic antidepressants (TCA), and selective serotonin reuptake inhibitors (SSRI).
-Consider Shine (DS)™ as an alternative that is free of St. John's Wort and will not interact with antidepressants or other drugs.
-This formula may interfere with birth control pills and certain antibiotics due to it's influence on liver enzymes.
-This formula may induce changes in the cytochrome P-450 system of the liver, leading to increased metabolism and decreased plasma concentration of certain drugs, such as cyclosporine (Sandimmune/Neoral), ethinyloestradiol and desogestrel (combined oral contraceptive), theophylline (Theo-Dur), digoxin (Lanoxin), and indinavir (Crixivan).
